  2. The Winnebago Reservation of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is located in Thurston County, Nebraska, United States. The tribal council offices are located in the town of Winnebago. [3] The villages of Emerson, south of First Street, as well as Thurston, are also located on the reservation.

  3. Reservation. The tribe had (by the treaty of 1846) a vast wilderness area in central Minnesota Territory, the Long Prairie Reservation. [5] The Winnebago Reservation, established by a treaty on March 8, 1865, [6] is in Thurston and Dixon counties, Nebraska, and Woodbury County, Iowa. [7]

  4. In 1865, during the constant upheaval that cost 700 tribal members their lives, the current Winnebago Reservation in northeastern Nebraska was established by the treaties of 1865 and 1874. Yet the tribe lost more than two-thirds of this land in the General Allotment Act of 1887.

Little Priest is honored annually with a Memorial Pow-wow on the Winnebago Reservation.
