Death Wish 3 is a 1985 American vigilante action-thriller film directed and edited by Michael Winner. It is the third film and the last to be directed by Winner in the Death Wish film series.
According to the book 'Bronson's Loose' by Paul Talbot, the original working title "Death Wish III" was changed to "Death Wish 3" because The Cannon Group, Inc. conducted a survey and found that nearly half of the U.S. population could not read Roman numerals.

Death Wish 3 is a 1985 action film starring Charles Bronson as vigilante Paul Kersey and is the third film in the Death Wish series. It was written by Don Jakoby (under the pseudonym Michael Edmonds). The film would be the last Death Wish film to be directed by Micheal Winner.

American novelist Brian Garfield created the main character, Paul Kersey, in his 1972 novel Death Wish, but the plot for Death Wish 3 is based on a screenplay by Don Jakoby (using the name Michael Edmonds).
