The word ‘ akhlaq’ is derived from the root ‘ khulq’ meaning disposition. Disposition is nurtured by the regularity of an action or practice such that it becomes ingrained in the mind and heart of a person resulting in the innate tendency to revert to that action; the action becomes ‘second nature’ to him.
