4 days ago · Bharani Thirunal Lakshmi Bayi's mother belonged to the Kolathunad royal family, which was directly related to the Travancore royal family. When the niece of Maharajah Uthram Thirunal, Rani of Travancore, Pooradam Thirunal Lakshmi Bayi, died in 1857 during childbirth, he decided to adopt Lakshmi Bayi and her younger sister, Parvathi Bayi, to become the Senior and Junior Ranis of Attingal.
