Charles Ward " Chuck " Smith (June 25, 1927 – October 3, 2013) was an American pastor who founded the Calvary Chapel movement.
Donning Hawaiian-print shirts, Smith famously preached verse by verse, led spirit-filled worship, and warned California hippies about the end times starting in the 1960s and ’70s.
