Pithoragarh Fort (Hindi: पिथौरागढ़ किला) is a fort in Pithoragarh in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It was built during Chand period by regional ruler Peeru Alias Prithwi Gusain. [1] According to some records, this fort was constructed by the Gorkhas in the year 1789, after invading the town. [2]
The Fort is located at just boundary of Pithoragarh town and can be easily reach by covering small trekking distance. To reach Pithoragarh by air, board a flight for Pantnagar airport, which is 250 kms away from Pithoragarh. From airport, you can hire a cab to reach Pithoragarh.

This fort, at the outskirts of Pithoragarh town on a hilltop was constructed in 1789 by Gorkhas. Presently it houses the tehsil headquarters. Inside the fort there a plaque which says 1005 men from the town of Pithoragarh participated in the First World War of which 32 laid down their lives in the war.
