The present AUCE Campus (the North Campus of the Andhra University) had been established in 1955 on a sprawling area extending to 160 acres. The shift had seen the North Campus emerge as the present Andhra University College of Engineering.
Andhra University College of Engineering, also known as AU College of Engineering, is an autonomous college and extension campus of the Andhra University located at Visakhapatnam, India. It is the first Indian institution to have a Department of Chemical Engineering.
In 1946, initially the College was located at Cocanada, now called as Kakinada. After the separation of Andhra State in 1953, the Department of Engineering with Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Engineering sections was started as a part of Andhra University.
