Krishnaswamy Bhagyaraj (born 7 January 1953) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, actor, composer, film producer and politician active mainly in Tamil films. He has also written and directed Hindi films and TV serials.
In 1998, he took a break from acting as the lead hero in Tamil films after the release of the massive critical and commercial failure film titled ‘Vaettiya Madichu Kattu.’. In 2006, K. Bhagyaraj joined the Indian regional political party named ‘All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.’.

Bhagyaraj’s roots trace back to Vellankoil near Gobichettipalayam in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu. Born to Krishnaswamy and Amaravathiamma, he experienced both joy and tragedy in his personal life. His first marriage to actress Praveena in 1981 ended tragically with her demise due to jaundice in August 1983.
