By 1404 it had grown so large it moved to St Matthew’s Field and West Street where it remains today. It includes a huge funfair and stalls that run the length of West Street.
Bridgwater Fair attracts crowds from all over the West Country and is recognised as the largest fair in the South West with roughly 40,000 visitors each year. Following tradition, the Fair will be officially opened on 'Fair Wednesday' at 11:30am by Sedgemoor District Council's Chairman and the Mayor of Bridgwater.
