Sir Partha Sarathi Dasgupta GBE FRS FBA (born 17 November 1942) [1] is an Indian-British economist who is Frank Ramsey Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, [1] and a fellow of St John's College, Cambridge.
In 1971, he began his career as an economist in England, concentrating on subjects that interested him. His research was highly regarded and he was promoted to professor. Since he studied physics and mathematics before studying economics, Professor Dasgupta's interest covered a wide range of fields.
