    Founding and First Album

    Gerard Way and Matt Pelissier formed My Chemical Romance, which was then an untitled project, when Gerard saw the 9/11 attacks from his office in New York City. He wrote My Chemical Romance's first song, "Skylines and Turnstiles", about his feelings in the aftermath of the attacks.
