    • Explore the Turkish side on a walking tour. As I’ve already mentioned in the first section, this fascinating city is split into 2 sides: Northern Cyprus, which is inhabited by Turkish Cypriots, and the Republic of Cyprus side, where the Greek Cypriots live.

    • Admire the architecture of Büyük Han. We’ve crossed the Green Line, and now we’re back on the Turkish side (North Nicosia), where we’ve got a gorgeous attraction that Kinga said should definitely be included on your Nicosia itinerary.
    • Breakfast. If your accommodation doesn’t provide breakfast, begin your day at Giagia Victoria cafe, located right along the Green Line next to the Ledra Street checkpoint in the old city.
    • Walk Along the Green Line. Nicosia is unique in that it is the last divided capital city in Europe and one of the few places in the world where two sides of the same city are controlled by different governments, use different currencies and speak different languages.
    • Nicosia Border Crossing. Though the majority of this one-day Nicosia itinerary takes place in the southern part of the city, you should consider heading to the northern part of the Cypriot capital to take advantage of all of the things to do in Nicosia.
    • Explore Northern Nicosia. Once you’ve successfully crossed the Green Line, now it’s time to explore what Northern Nicosia has to offer. Conveniently, all of the main sites of this side of the city are located within easy walking distance of each other and you can easily cover all of them within the span of an hour or two.
