This album was recorded in 1997 to raise money for medical treatment for the seriously ill Mark Craney - drummer with many famous acts (see names on setlist). MC died in 2005. Mike Keneally wrote on his website:

Though his resume was impressive, Craney's greatest commercial success was drumming for the Gino Vannelli single "I Just Wanna Stop" which soared to #4 in the US and #1 in Canada. Craney died of complications from diabetes and pneumonia in Sherman Oaks, California, at the age of 53.

The CD "Something With A Pulse" is available on Laughing Gull Records #LG002 through "A New Day" magazine. On November 26, 2005 Mark Craney died in his sleep. He had been ill for many years fighting with an on-going kidney ailment, transplant rejections, stroke paralysis and associated medical problems.
Dec 19, 2015 · One of my best friends, Doane Perry, who co-produced the Something with a Pulse CD, took my place and has had the gig ever since. I first met Doane in the mid 1970s. He called Jean Luc's management to follow up after being told that he had the Jean Luc Ponty gig.
