Kapil Dev Nikhanj (Pronunciation: [kəpil deːʋ] born 6 January 1959) is an Indian former cricketer. He is regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of cricket, he was a fast-medium bowler and a hard-hitting middle-order batsman.
Kapil Dev is the only player to have taken 400 wickets and scored more than 5000 runs in Test cricket. He led India to their first World Cup triumph in 1983 and was a fearsome fast bowler and a powerful batsman.
Kapil Dev was the greatest pace bowler and allrounder India has produced, and their Cricketer of the Century. He led India to the 1983 World Cup and took the world-record Test wickets from Richard Hadlee.
