My Sassy Girl (Korean: 엽기적인 그녀, romanized: Yeopgijeogin Geunyeo, lit. 'That Bizarre Girl') is a 2001 South Korean romantic comedy film directed by Kwak Jae-yong, starring Jun Ji-hyun and Cha Tae-hyun. The film is based on a true story told in a series of blog posts written by Kim Ho-sik, who later adapted them into a fictional novel.

Based on a series of true stories posted by Ho-sik Kim on the Internet describing his relationship with his girlfriend. These were later transformed into a best-selling book and the movie follows the book closely. It describes the meeting of Kyun-woo (Cha) and an unnamed girl.
Dec 16, 2007 · The story is actually based on a true story. The bit where Gyeon-woo starts journaling and writes his story about his relationship is very similar to how the actually writer ended up writing this movie. The ending, however, is different for the sake of the movie.
