Sep 6, 2018 · Cars is the perfect Pixar movie because it is inherently universal; in other words, it synthesizes action-packed and thoroughly entertaining race sequences – i.e., material that will instantly sell and is akin to a ready-made movie trailer – with profound emotional resonance and character development. Thus, the film can appeal to all audiences.
While traveling to California to race The King and Chick Hicks in the Piston Cup Championship, Lightning McQueen falls out of his trailer and winds up in a run-down town called Radiator Springs.

Don't get me wrong, Cars is a good movie, it's just that it isn't a great one. Personally I do think it is my least favourite Pixar movie, but there was still a lot I enjoyed. So what were its problems?
Although it was rated G in 2006, it would NEVER get the same rating today. There are three things in the movie that would scale this movie up to a PG rating: (1) The adult humor of two Mazda Miata characters flashing their "headlights," which imply female breasts. (2) One car calls a minivan "sexy."
Whether the movie will make you believe a shocking-orange stock car has a future with a lavender Carrera, it's more fun to follow than a televised freeway chase.
