MES Abasaheb Garware College, Pune. Established in year 1945 as M.E.S. College of Arts and Science, it imparted primary education in languages and social sciences, and a few subjects in science. Abasaheb Garware College has been re-accredited for three cycles and awarded ‘A’ grade by NAAC.

Abasaheb Garware College of Arts and Science (commonly referred to as Garware College) is a college located in Pune, India. It is run by the Maharashtra Education Society, a private education institution founded by Vasudeo Balwant Phadke, Vaman Prabhakar Bhave and Laxman Narhar Indapurkar in 1860. [1]
The College comprises twenty three Departments of subjects from Arts and Science Streams. As in any other institutions of the MES, the College provides excellent laboratory facilities to the students of science stream.
The Department of Biotechnology started functioning in the academic year 2005-06 and soon became a very progressive and frontrunner department amongst the affiliated colleges to Savitribai Phule Pune University.
