Early life. Kapoor was born into a Punjabi Hindu family [5] on 24 December 1956 [1][6] in Chembur to Nirmal Kapoor and film producer Surinder Kapoor. [7][8][9][1][6] He is the second of four children. His elder brother, Boney Kapoor is a film producer and younger brother Sanjay Kapoor is an actor.
Anil was born and brought up in Chembur, Mumbai to a Punjabi family of film producers. Initially, his family used to live in Raj Kapoor ‘s garage in Mumbai, but later they shifted to the “chawl” area of the city. He has also worked in Raj Kapoor’s garage to financially support his family.
