Harlow is a town and local government district located in the west of Essex, England. Founded as a new town, it is situated on the border with Hertfordshire, Harlow occupies a large area of land on the south bank of the upper Stort Valley, which has been made navigable through other towns and features a canal section near its watermill.

Feb 7, 2024 · Fantastic Public Space! We visited on a lovely sunny afternoon and reckon that this is one of the best modern municipal parks we know. At 164 acres, it is large enough to have several different areas - and it does. Though only opened in 1957, it is so varied - a brilliant location.
Harlow has a rich cultural scene and is the UK’s only sculpture town with over 100 public sculptures on display. The new town was designed by Sir Frederick Gibberd, he was a visionary on an aesthetic as well as practical level.
