Ferndale (Welsh: Glynrhedynog) is a town and community located in the Rhondda Valley in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Neighbouring villages are Blaenllechau, Maerdy and Tylorstown. Ferndale was industrialised in the mid-19th century.

There are not many tourist attractions in Ferndale, however, nearby easily accessable towns have lots of attractions that give a great insight to the very detailed history of Wales including Welsh traditions and especially of the largest mining area of South Wales that is the Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Ferndale, a hamlet in the parishes of Ystradyfodwg and Llanwonno, Glamorgan, 9 miles NNW of Pontypridd. It has a station on the Rhondda branch of the Taff Vale railway, and a post, money order, and telegraph office (R.S.O.) under Pontypridd.
