I watched most commercial masala hit movies and later was closely following Telugu film industry. I had the habit of getting CD of old (2000s) hit Telugu movies and watch it over semester holidays. One such movie was Athidi. I feel second half was brilliantly written.
The film stars Mahesh Babu, alongside Amrita Rao (in her Telugu film debut), Murali Sharma and Ashish Vidyarthi. Athidhi was released on 18 October 2006 to mixed reviews from critics and completed 35 days in 400 centres. The film was remade in Bengali language in Bangladesh as Durdhorsho Premik.
Athidi(Mahesh Babu) is falsely convicted for killing his adopted parents and goes to jail for 13 years and when he comes back he loves Amrita (Amrita Rao) unaware that she is the daughter of his adopted parents.
