Jaidev (3 August 1918 [1] [2] – 6 January 1987; born Jaidev Verma) was a music composer in Hindi films, most known for his work in films: Hum Dono (1961), Reshma Aur Shera (1971), Prem Parbat (1973), Gharaonda (1977) and Gaman (1978).
However, in the years between 1977 and 1979, Jaidev produced some of his most memorable compositions in films like Alaap (1977), Gharaonda (1977), Tumhare Liye (1978), and Muzaffar Ali’s Gaman (1978), for which Jaidev won his second National Award for Best Music Director.

Later from the movie Taxi Driver, he served S.D.Burman as assistant. His first movie as music director was Joru ka bhai followed by Anjali. Both these movies of Chetan Anand became hits, both musically and commercially.
