Castel San Giovanni (Piacentino: Castél San Giuàn) is a town and comune in the province of Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. History. The origins of the town are probably related to an ancient pieve called Olubra and a fortress called Castellus Milonus, which preceded the construction of a new castle by Alberto Scoto in 1290 (now also disappeared).

Castel San Giovanni. It used to be the checkpoint of the roads between the Chiese river and Lake Garda. A pleasant walk up to the castle. A splendid view of Lake Idro. It can be reached on foot only in two ways: by walking on a dirt road from the car park (15 minutes) or taking the path from Baitoni, near the car park in Miralago (20-30 minutes).
