Here is a section of the piece I was working on. I was able to get three systems on the front page, but couldn't get more than two on pages 2-3.
There is a way in Finale. You go to the second ending measures in speedy entry and click on the note that needs to receive a tie. Then one uses the menu to attach a tie. I don't have Finale with me at the moment to give the exact instructions. And I don't know that print music has that capacity. David

Logic Pro 8, Digital Performer, Loaded MAC Tower, two screens, a whole bag of sample libraries including Full GPO, some VSL, True Strike 1 and 2, and now Xsample Chamber Instruments and I have a long ways to go to understand how us all of this.... but quite familiar with Finale!
other than for chamber music, I simply find linked parts too limiting to use the same file for both score and parts. in other words, for orchestral scores, I have two scores: one a full score for printing, the other a score optimized so that the linked parts come out right. linked parts still helps in having all of your material within a single ...

A composer should write music any way he/she feels comfortable. I always write directly to the computer. You still have to know what you are doing in regard to orchestration. Sometimes the computer makes sections of music sound good but when played by real musicians, it sounds bad. (because its not balanced correctly) Finale is only a tool.
