South East Technological University (SETU; Irish: Ollscoil Teicneolaíochta an Oirdheiscirt) is a public technological university located in the South East region of Ireland. It was formed from the amalgamation of two existing institutes of technology in the region – Waterford IT and IT Carlow.
SETU is Ireland’s fifth technological university with campuses in four counties. It offers education, research and engagement opportunities for 18,500 students.
South East Technological University (SETU) is the first technological university in the southeastern region of Ireland. SETU is among the newest universities in the country, established in May 2022 following the merger of Waterford Institute of Technology and Institute of Technology, Carlow (IT Carlow).
