Kazuo Yashiki (八敷一男, Yashiki Kazuo, default name) is the protagonist of Death Mark. An amnesiac who has been marked prior to the start of the game, he lost all of his memories, including the knowledge of his own identity.
The story is set in H City, Tokyo, [5] where it follows an amnesiac, player-named man whose default name is Kazuo Yashiki. In the beginning of the game, Yashiki notices that he carries a scar on his arm, called the Mark, which according to rumors is caused by curses or contact with ghosts, and will lead to its bearer's death at dawn.
While this game tries to be vague about what happened in the first game, it does spoil a big reveal early on: that Kazuo Yashiki's true identity is Masamune Kujou.
The story is set in a Tokyo suburb, and sees the player take the role of Kazuo Yashiki, who is hired to infiltrate a school as a teacher to investigate gruesome, spiritual incidents that occur there every ten years.
