Dec 22, 2017 · When I try to install a program (.exe) it runs winzip self-extractor which tries to create a file in C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp. Then: I read some articles and then I changed the .exe to .zip. Then I extracted the files and ran it. Then it allowed me to choose another file location where I want to create the file. But the same problem uncured
Do you need WinZip Pro, do you use it for specific tasks you need to do on your PC? Windows 10 can create, open and extract Zip files, so, if that is all you would be using WinZip for, then you do not need that WinZip software, you can just uninstall it from your PC . . .
Aug 17, 2021 · Try the drive where your programs are located< Such as E:\Program Files\WinZip Change C:\ to the drive with WinZip. In my case, I use E:\ or Z:\ Go to the lower right corner of Windows and type WinZip in the search box to find the drive. After seeing the correct version then right-click on the app results to open the file location. HTH

I reached out to WinZip support and got the following response:-----Hello, We have learned that the registry cleaner component of the AVG Tuneup utility does not understand a change our developer's made to the "Most Recently Used" subkey in the WinZip registry (mru).
Feb 28, 2019 · Thanks but as soon as I posted this I went into the file menu of Word and saw WinZip. It must have come as an add on extension with the PDF software I downloaded. All is fixed now as I uninstalled it from my Apps menu in the control panel.
May 3, 2018 · zipx is a file format developed by Winzip using xz compression. Windows doesn't offer native support for .zipx file (Windows offers support for .zip not .zipx). If you want to open ,zipx files, I would recommend that you download Unzip -Support from Microsoft Store.
Jun 13, 2020 · WinZip: Microsoft charged me for an annual subscription which I did not want. PayPal refused to refund my money because I had already cancelled the subscription. (I cancelled the next day after I saw the subscription had been taken by Microsoft). Now, after months, I figure I may as well use the product that I have paid for - and it does not work.
