Jul 27, 2022 · Ivrea was an unpopular town in Piedmont until 2016. The few tourists, mostly Italian, were only interested in the Old city. It remains so now, but there was one "but". It is included in the coveted UNESCO world heritage list, where Italy is the leader with 55 sites. My daughter and I planned to travel to the city for just a few hours in transit from Turin to Milan. The goal was to visit UNESCO sites associated with Olivetti, the world's leading typewriter manufacturer.
