Dec 18, 2020 · Things do not go to that extreme in the 2016 Kannada film Thithi in which the impending post-death function of the deceased centenarian merely forms the background story. The film spotlights the lives of the dead Century Gowda's son, grandson, and great-grandson, from the time of his passing away until his 'thithi' (11th-day ceremony after death).
We didn't even have a story; we had just decided that we wanted to make the film there. We wanted to create a world and the story of that world is something that we built after I came back from Prague. The inspiration is the place and the people of Mandya, who are very warm and passionate.
