The strange story of Joyce Hatto, a pianist of middling talent who suddenly starts to produce stunning recordings from a label set up by her husband, is brought to the screen with Victoria Wood's trademark wit and warmth.

Dec 27, 2012 · Based on a story from the New Yorker on the strange but real-life case of classical music fraud around pianist Joyce Hatto, this was a beautifully modulated piece of drama with a light sweetness and just enough of the trademark Wood humour, interwoven with such melancholic depths of human tragedy.
