Mark Edward Waugh AM (born 2 June 1965) is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer, who represented Australia in Test matches from early 1991 to late 2002, after previously making his One Day International (ODI) debut in 1988.

- Background. As Mark came from a family background that was involved in sports, from an early age, he, along with his brothers, was introduced to sports.
- Club career. Mark opened on debut at Hobart's TCA Ground against Tasmania. Mark took his first catch on that day with that of Roger Woolley. For both 1987–88 and 1989–90 seasons he was declared the Sheffield Shield player of the year.
- Debut. Waugh was finally picked for his Test debut in the 1990–91 Ashes series. In the fourth Test at the Adelaide Oval against England, he scored his maiden century with a square drive late on the first day.
- Low points. Waugh was in bad form during the 1991–92 Australian summer. He scored just two in the opening match of the world cup which was played against New Zealand at Eden Park.
