  1. The 16th arrondissement of Paris (le XVI e arrondissement; French pronunciation: [lə sɛzjɛm aʁɔ̃dismɑ̃]) is the westernmost of the 20 arrondissements of Paris, the capital city of France.

    • Bois de Boulogne. The 16th arrondissement connects to a large forest on the west of Paris, known as the Bois de Boulogne, which has within in Jardin d’Acclimatation, and the Fondation Louis Vuitton.
    • Fondation Louis Vuitton. Located in the Bois de Boulogne park on the edge of Paris, is the Louis Vuitton foundation. It is a private not-for-profit art museum that is run by LVMH, the luxury clothing brand.
    • Jardin d’Acclimatation. If you want to visit a theme park but don’t want to invest the full day at Disneyland Paris or Parc Asterix, you can head out to Jardin d’Acclimatation in the 16th arrondissement, which is right on the metro line 1.
    • Piscine Molitor. Piscine Molitor, a hotel and outdoor swimming pool complex built in 1929 with an art deco flair. It is a designated historic monument and today holds a 4-star hotel, including swimming pools, spa services, babysitting services and more.
    • Musée de la Marine. Palais de Chaillot & fountains of Trocadero. The Trocadero is more than just a pretty viewing platform. In the two curved wings stretching out from the central plaza are some interesting museums.

    • Explore the Trocadéro and its surrounds. The Trocadéro is built around 10, 000 square meters (10960 sq yards) of garden space. Named after a famous battle in southern Spain, one end of the Trocadéro is fronted by the Palais de Chaillot.
    • Expand your knowledge of Architecture at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine. The French are immensely proud of their architectural heritage and this museum sets out to celebrate some important aspects of it.
    • Go beneath the waves and the city at the Aquarium de Paris. This is one for the whole family. Before leaving the Trocadéro, you might want to venture underground where you will discover a huge aquarium that houses more than 7,500 marine creatures, as well as one of the largest shark tanks in the whole of Europe.
