THDC India Limited is presently operating and maintaining two large Hydro Projects namely Tehri HPP (1000MW) and Koteshwar HEP (400 MW) in the state of Uttarakhand. Both the above projects are multipurpose projects, providing irrigation benefits to command area and drinking water to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Tehri HPP and Koteshwar HEP were synchronized with the Northern Grid and declared under Commercial Operation on 09.07.2007 and 01.04.2012 respectively.
THDC India Limited (formerly Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited) is under the ownership of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, Ministry of Power, Government of India. It was incorporated in July 1988 to develop, operate and maintain the Tehri Hydro Power Complex and other Hydro Projects.
LOOKING AHEAD. Present installed capacity of THDCIL is 1587 MW having three Hydro, two Wind and one Solar Power Plant. THDCIL envisaged to add 2764 MW upto 2026-27 with anticipated commissioning of its three under construction power projects namely Tehri PSP (4x250 MW), Vishnugad Pipalkoti HEP (4x111 MW) and Khurja STPP (2x660 MW).
