    If the user is holding an item, Fling deals damage and causes the user to lose the held item permanently; its power depends on which item the user is holding. Otherwise, the move fails.

  4. The premise of Fling, the Dark Type Move, is that the Pokémon literally throws their current hold item at the opponent, thus losing the item. This does however mean that Fling is a one-time use attack, unless your have a Pokémon that knows Recycle as well in which you can get multiple uses out of it.

  6. Fling. The power of this move is based on the user's held item. The held item is lost and it activates for the target if applicable. If there is no target or the target avoids this move by protecting itself, the user's held item is still lost. The user can regain a thrown item with Recycle or the Harvest Ability.
