Dotlet is a web app that produces a dot plot representing the alignment of two protein/nucleotide sequences. It is a pure client-side Javascript application written with React. History. The original app was written in Java by Marco Pagni and Thomas Junier (Vital-IT).

Dotlet was written by Marco Pagni and Thomas Junier form the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics in Epalinges, Switzerland. The reason why we wrote dotlet is that we needed a diagonal plot tool for the December 1998 practical sessions in bioinformatics at the Institute of Biochemistry.
