Institutes of Eminence (IoE) is a recognition scheme for higher education institutes in India, set by the University Grants Commission in 2017. The plan encompasses twenty institutions, twelve of which have already been declared Institutes of Eminence as of April 2021.

Institutes of Eminence is a scheme launched by the Government and initiated by UGC (University Grant Commission). The scheme was proposed in the Union Budget of 2016 to make top Indian Institutes globally competitive.
