The Vineyard opened its doors in 1982 as a multi-art chamber theatre on East 26th Street, with theatre, opera, jazz, and children’s programming. Seven years later, we moved to our current home in Union Square, focusing our mission exclusively on theatre, while retaining the spirit of our early days, infusing theatre with collaborations across art forms.
