The Students’ Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) was founded in 1988 by a group of young Ladakhis with the aim to reform the educational system of Ladakh. SECMOL Alternative School which is our eco-friendly campus near Leh, we organise residential activities for Ladakhi youth and students attending college in town.
Early life. Wangchuk was born in 1966 in near Alchi in the Leh district of Ladakh. He was not enrolled in a school until the age of 9, as there were not any schools in his village. His mother taught him all the basics in his own mother tongue until that age.

Well, there is one such school – SECMOL (Students’ Educational & Cultural Movement of Ladakh). It has a large campus spread over 20 acres near Phey village in the Indus valley of Ladakh, India. Mr. Sonam Wangchuk established the SECMOL school in 1998, which is an alternative education institute.
