If you want to take a break from X or delete your account permanently, you can deactivate your account from the settings page. Deactivation is reversible, but you need to act within 30 days. Learn more about how to deactivate your X account here.

- Open Twitter. Go to https://www.twitter.com/ in your browser. This will open your Twitter home page if you're logged into your Twitter account. If you aren't logged into your account, click.
- Click your profile image. This option is in the upper-right corner of the page. A drop-down menu will appear.
- Click "Settings and privacy". It's near the middle of the drop-down menu.
- Scroll all the way down and click "Deactivate my account". It's at the very bottom of the page. If you don't see this link at the bottom of the page, you haven't scrolled far enough down.
