Jun 13, 2020 · New Delhi: Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Ankur Garg, who made headlines last year for scoring 171/170 in macroeconomics at Harvard University in the US, has won a fresh accolade. The prestigious Ivy League university has now given Garg, a 2002-batch IAS officer from the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, the Raymond Vernon Award for Commitment to International Development on finishing his course.
Jul 10, 2023 · IAS Ankur Garg is a 2003 batch officer of the AGMUT cadre. In June 2022, he was transferred to Arunachal Pradesh from Delhi. He topped the UPSC Civil Services exam in 2002 at the young age of 22. Back then, he was the youngest candidate to achieve this feat. He cleared the UPSC CSE in his first attempt and joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). His optional subjects were Physics and Chemistry.
