Sitaram Yechury (born 12 August 1952) is an Indian Marxist politician and the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and a member of the Politburo of the CPI(M) since 1992. Previously, he was a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from West Bengal from 2005 to 2017.
