Om Prakash Puri, OBE (18 October 1950 – 6 January 2017) was an Indian actor who appeared in mainstream commercial Hindi films as well as Urdu, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, English, Punjabi, Gujarati, Telugu, and Marathi films, as well as independent and art films and also starred in several international cinema.
In the era of 70’s and 80’s, Om Puri was the most popular actor of art movies. He said he enjoyed more while acting in art movies but he had to move to the commercial cinema in order to earn money to buy cars and bungalows.
