Fairbanks North Star Borough Facts. The Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) was incorporated as second class on January 1, 1964. In Alaska, "borough" is used instead of "county." (Boroughs are similar to counties.) The FNSB includes the City of Fairbanks and the City of North Pole.

Jul 1, 2021 · The Solid Waste Collection District provides services to residents that are part of the Borough, outside the City of Fairbanks. The services include the management of transfer sites for the collection and transfer of recyclables, waste-to-energy fuels, waste, and areas for reuse (reuse platforms).
