  1. The best songs of this album for me are: "Brother of Mine" (with an "universal" 60s message in the lyrics), "Birthright" (with very good electronic percussion by Bruford), "The Meeting" (a very good religious song, full of atmospheres, with good lyrics, and very good keyboards), "Quartet" (which seems mainly a Anderson/Howe collaboration, with ...

  2. About Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe. When Jon Anderson, founding member of Yes, tired of the 1980s pop metal direction the band had gone in, he attempted to start a solo project.

  3. Anderson spent his summer on the Greek island of Hydra writing songs with Vangelis, [2] where he first came up with the idea of making music with other members of the 1971–72 Yes line-up of guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Rick Wakeman, and drummer Bill Bruford.

  4. With a string of solid, if not classic songs, Anderson - Bruford,- Wakeman - Howe is firmly a 3 star album, but it's upbeat optimism helps to put it's rating a half star higher. In the modern climate of this world that's a very welcome attribute. 3.5 rounded down to 3.

For all that, it's a pedestrian effort for these veterans, not as bombastic as some of their stuff, not as inspired as others, but it definitely h...

Steve Pereira: Yes are the epitome of progressive music. Close To The Edge is the greatest ever prog album - the album that pointed the way for what was possible with symphonic prog; but Tales From Topographical Oceans sums up for many everything that is awful about prog rock. They pulled themselves together after Tales - modifying their impulse to...

  7. Oct 26, 2016 · Although all four of the former Yes members received writing credits, the songs here were all basically written by Anderson and Howe. However, for me at least, the sounds of Wakeman's keyboards and Bruford's drums seem to dominate most of the songs, while Howe's guitar work is more subtle and in the background.
