Since this is Christmas Day (and a Merry Christmas to all our readers) I thought you might enjoy reading how it was done.
Fitzwilly is played by the multi-talented Dick van Dyke at the height of his powers, which are in evidence here, but even his talent can't carry this mess of a movie. Fitzwilly's white-collar crimes are intended to be both comical and admirable, but they are neither. Nor are they victimless.
Fitzwilly: Directed by Delbert Mann. With Dick Van Dyke, Barbara Feldon, John McGiver, Edith Evans. A butler and the staff of an eccentric aged philanthropist whose family wealth is exhausted engage in larceny and crimes to maintain her lifestyle and provide funds for her charitable activities.

Dec 28, 2007 · The holidays may be almost over, but there’s still time to talk about one of my favorite Christmas movies, “Fitzwilly.” As usual, this post contains spoilers. This probably won’t be a problem for you, though, as “Fitzwilly” is a notoriously difficult movie to find.
