The Renaissance Venetian palazzo located in San Marco, overlooking the left bank of the Grand Canal, has belonged to the Volpi family since 1917, when Giuseppe Volpi, founder of the renowned Mostra Film Festival, became its owner.
PINACOTECA CIVICA Palazzo Volpi is the ancient home of the noble Volpi family. The Comasco Volpiano Volpi (1559-1629), archbishop of Chieti and resident in Rome, commissioned the designs of the palace to the Roman architect Sergio Venturi.
