Near to the Brisbane Road Ground in Coronation Gardens is a statue of footballer Laurie Cunningham, who was the first black player to play for England at senior level. Laurie began his career at Leyton Orient in 1974, before moving onto West Bromwich Albion and then Real Madrid.
