Our medical anthropology faculty take a biocultural approach to health and illness, with expertise including lifespan human development, identity and the body, language and the body, syndemics, health systems, human behavioral ecology, and social justice, among other areas.
Students pursuing a major in anthropology who are interested in a career in health professions such as medicine, nursing, public health, health policy, epidemiology, medical anthropology or medical sociology can choose a sequence of courses in the health professions concentration.
