Johar was born on 25 May 1972 in Bombay, India into a Hindu family to a Punjabi father, film producer Yash Johar, founder of Dharma Productions and a Sindhi mother, Hiroo Johar. He is the maternal nephew of film producers B.R. Chopra and Yash Chopra, and the cousin of their sons, Aditya Chopra, Ravi Chopra and Uday Chopra.
The second directorial venture of the makers of the 2013's terrific film Bombay Talkies was a pretty decent and good watch, but Karan Johar again just rubbed too much of melodramatic soap opera here as well. We have Megha (played by a superb Kiara Advani who finally matures) and Paras (read Oh Vicky Kaushal! Vicky Vicky Kaushal!).
