One of the veritable nerve centres of women’s education in north-eastern India, Handique Girls’ College was established in 1939, a dream come true for the late Mrs. Rajabala Das, a pioneer in the field of women’s education.
Founded in 1939 by the Late Rajabala Das in the backdrop of the nationalist struggle for freedom, Handique Girls’ College takes pride in completing about eighty years of its glorious existence in the history of women’s education and empowerment in Assam as well as in the entire North-East India.
Handique Girls College was established in 1939 for women’s’ education in Assam. The college offers graduation and post-graduation courses to the students in the Science and Arts stream. It also offers a PGDCA program for students having an interest in Computer Applications.
Handique Girls College is a constituent college of the University of Gauhati. It is one of the oldest colleges located in the Indian state of Assam and offers undergraduate courses in Arts and Science.
Handique Girl’s College offers higher secondary courses in science and art stream, graduation in arts and science stream, masters in various subjects, BCA and PGDCA. All the courses are AICTE approved.
